1. All localities shall strictly implement the announcement on further standardizing the naming of health food (notice of the state food and drug administration no. 168 of 2015). Since May 1, 2016, the names of health food shall not contain relevant words that express the product's functions, including those that have been approved for specific health functions such as boosting immunity and helping to lower blood lipid, and shall not contain words that mislead consumers.

2. The designation of contents similar to the health care function, homophonic sound and hinting effect in the approved name shall be stipulated separately.

After the product name is approved to be changed, the manufacturer may mark the original product name after the new product name, and the font of the original product name shall not be greater than 1/2 of the font used for the new product name, and the font size shall not be greater than 5 characters. Production products sold to the end of the shelf life, shelf life mark shall not exceed the shelf life of the original product. Starting from January 1, 2017, manufacturers are not allowed to label their original products.

The food and drug supervision and administration departments at all levels shall strengthen the supervision and control over the marketing of health food in strict accordance with the relevant provisions of the announcement.
